Benson Campus Galleries

The Department of Visual Arts at Greenville Technical College's Benson Campus is pleased to announce the 28th Annual Upstate High School Art Exhibit. This year's exhibit features 147 artworks from eighteen Upstate high schools. Works representing a vast range of approaches, media, and techniques were selected by participating high school art instructors with entries in digital and web mediums shown side by side with more traditionally developed works.

For 2018, the juror is local artist Steven Chapp. Steven received his MFA in Printmaking and Drawing from Clemson University in 1984. He is the owner of Black Dog Press and Studio in Easley, and he is also a founding member of the Upstate's Contemporary Print Collective. Steven retired from Greenville County Schools in 2010 after 28 years as a visual arts teacher.

Please join us for a special ceremony and presentation of cash awards to both students and their respective high school programs on Thursday, April 19th, from 7-9 pm, made possible by our generous sponsors: Metropolitan Arts Council, Netalytics, and the Greenville Tech Foundation. The exhibit is currently on view in the galleries at the Benson Campus and will remain on display through April 20th.

This exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
