The Department of Visual Arts at Greenville Technical College's Benson Campus is pleased to announce the 27th Annual Upstate High School Art Exhibit. This year's exhibit features 159 artworks from seventeen Upstate high schools. Works representing a vast range of approaches, media, and techniques were selected by participating high school art instructors with entries in digital and web mediums shown side by side with more traditionally developed works. For 2017, the juror was artist Mark Flowers. Mark has taught art at the secondary and postsecondary levels for more than 34 years. While he has been a teacher of art, he has also chaired two fine arts departments and one painting department. Currently he is an Adjunct Professor and Gallery Coordinator at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. Please join us for a special ceremony and presentation of cash awards to both students and their respective high school programs on Thursday, April 20th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, made possible by our generous sponsors: Metropolitan Arts Council, Greer Commission of Public Works, Reel Video and Stills, and the Greenville Tech Foundation. The exhibit is currently on view in the galleries at the Benson Campus and will remain on display through April 21.
This exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
