The Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician courses (IMT573 - IMT576) are available online allowing the student to prepare for the MSSC assessments completely online.
The goal of the Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification program is to train entry-level production workers and/or raise the level of performance of current production workers. Certified employees provide their employers the skills and knowledge to increase the company's productivity and competitiveness. At the conclusion of the MSSC modules, the student will qualify to sit for the MSSC certified assessment exam. The exam can be taken at Greenville Technical College or any authorized MSSC testing center.

Our instructors are NCCER Certified and have decades of training and work experience to help you learn all of the skills needed to be competitive in today’s job market. Our welding program uses NCCER curriculum for training.
In addition to traditional training, Economic Development and Corporate Training at Greenville Technical College offers its services to companies who utilize welders within their industry. We offer a variety of services such as:
- skills assessments for individual workers
- booth rentals for testing
- welding consulting services for those in need of developing and/or qualifying weld procedure specifications (WPS)
- procedures for setting up or maintaining a welding program.
Our Welding Training Center at Barton Campus is located at 506 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29607 in Building 106B.
