Greenville Tech celebrates Financial Aid Awareness Month

Once you have filed your 2007 taxes, it’s time to submit your 2008-09 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This year, for the first time, FAFSA must be submitted online.

Think you might need help with FAFSA? For one-on-one assistance, bring your 2007 tax returns (and your parents’ returns if you’re a dependent student) or SSA 1099 to the Greenville Tech Financial Aid Office in the Admissions and Registration Center at McAlister Square throughout the month of February. A financial aid officer will also be available at the satellite campuses. Visit the Brashier Campus February 7, 14, 21 or 28. Visit the Greer Campus February 6, 13, 20 or 27. Visit the Northwest Campus February 5, 12, 19 or 26.

Have a general question about financial aid? Log onto the live group chat during the month of February where a financial aid officer will be standing by to answer your questions. Go to gvltec.edu/financial_aid.html. Then look for the “Financial Aid Q & A” button. The live chat is available Mondays from 9 to 11 a.m. or 2 to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon.
