Greenville Area Commission elects new officers
The Greenville Area Commission for Technical Education, which serves as the governing board for Greenville Tech, elected officers on March 3. Sam Clayton, who has served as a member of the commission since 1982, was elected chairman. Paul O. Batson, III, a member of the commission since 1998 and chairman of the Program Review Committee, was elected Vice Chairman. Gale B. Crawford, who has served since 2005, was elected secretary/treasurer.
Clayton is retired after 30 years in the banking business. Batson is an accountant and owner of Batson Accounting & Tax, P.A. Crawford, who served on the Greenville Tech Foundation Board as Student Housing President, is a retired banker and a builder and real estate developer with Crawford Properties.
Members of the area commission include Dr. George Bomar, who is retired after a 41-year career in the insurance business and chairs the Building and Finance Committee; William H. Bradshaw, president of Bradshaw Automotive Group, Inc., who serves as the commission liaison to the University Center in Greenville; Dr. T. Walter Brashier, a real estate developer who serves on the Building and Finance Committee; Dr. Phinnize Fisher, the Superintendent of Education for Greenville County Schools, who serves as an ex-officio member of the commission; Rev. O.T. Hill, an instructor at Morris College and minister at Beaverdam Baptist Church, who serves as a member of the Program Review Committee at the college; Dr. Keith Ray, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Greenville County Schools and an associate chaplain and assistant professor of religion at Furman University; and Robert A. Wilson, M.D., a physician in private practice.
