SkillsUSA is coming to Greenville for the First Time
(GREENVILLE, SC) – The state SkillsUSA competition will be held in Greenville for the first time this year. The event comes to the Carolina First Center April 17-19. Competitions requiring specific equipment available at Greenville Tech will be held on one of the college’s four campuses.
The following skill contests will be held April 18: Advertising Design, Architectural & Technical Drafting, Auto Service Technology, Auto Collision, Repair, and Refinish, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Cabinetmaking, Carpentry, Computer Maintenance, Cosmetology, Crime Scene, Criminal Justice, Electronics Technology, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Mechatronics, Nail Care, Plumbing, Residential Wiring, TV Video Production, Video Product Development, and Welding.
Awards will be presented April 19.
SkillsUSA is a national, non-profit organization serving more than 280,000 high school and college students and professional members enrolled in training programs in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. SkillsUSA programs include local, state and national competitions in which students demonstrate occupational and leadership skills. During the annual national-level SkillsUSA championships, more than 4,600 students compete in 80 occupational and leadership skill areas. SkillsUSA programs also help to establish industry standards for job skill training in the classroom.
