Greenville Tech Paralegal Graduate Heads for Law School
A May graduate of Greenville Tech’s Paralegal program is ready for the next step as she heads to University of Virginia School of Law.
Sarah Jean White earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Bob Jones University before coming to Greenville Tech. Elizabeth Mann, Department Head for the Paralegal Program, says White distinguished herself as a student leader while at Greenville Tech. “She has been a mentor and role model for other students in every aspect of her education,” Mann says. “She is extremely intelligent, hard-working, and dedicated. She served as a lead trial attorney in the Mock Trial for her capstone course and excelled in her analysis and presentation. She has been an ambassador of merit for the program and for Greenville Technical College during her studies here.”
As a member of the Class of 2008, White will be inducted into Lambda Epsilon Chi, the National Paralegal Honor Society, requiring a GPA of 3.8 or higher and will receive the Elizabeth Mann Paralegal Advisory Committee Scholarship, awarded to the top five graduates each year.
She scored a 171 out of a possible 180 on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), putting her in the top 2% nationally. The University of Virginia School of Law, considered one of the top ten law schools in the country, offered her scholarships totaling over $60,000. White will begin law school there this fall.
