Greenville Tech students place in national SkillsUSA competition

Several Greenville Tech students received honors in the SkillsUSA national competition held in St. Louis, Mo., in June.

William Worley captured fifth place in the CNC Milling competition. Donnie Pass won sixth place in Carpentry. In the Collision Repair Technology competition, John Glenn won tenth place. Andrew Patrick was the 15th place winner in the Industrial Motor Controls competition. Lawrence Reid captured 27th place in Precision Machining Technology.

SkillsUSA is a national, non-profit organization serving more than 280,000 high school and college students and professional members enrolled in training programs in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. SkillsUSA programs include local, state and national competitions in which students demonstrate occupational and leadership skills. During the annual national-level SkillsUSA championships, more than 4,600 students compete in 80 occupational and leadership skill areas. SkillsUSA programs also help to establish industry standards for job skill training in the classroom.
