Welborn came to Greenville Tech in January, serving first as a consultant and later as interim chief before applying for the permanent position. Welborn has extensive experience in college law enforcement, and previously worked for USC Upstate as Chief of Police. He earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in criminal justice from USC Upstate and a master’s degree in public administration through a joint program offered by Clemson University and USC.
