Mini-grants make a major difference
(GREENVILLE, SC) – The Building Construction Technology program at Greenville Tech will purchase a Craftsman CompuCarve Compact Woodworking Machine, which is controlled by computer. The Biology Department will enrich anatomy and physiology classes with DVDs and videos related to the human body systems and environmental science. The Continuing Education Division’s Occupation Trades program will now have CAD software available for interior design students. And students learning emergency dispatching will have more realistic training, thanks to the addition of CDs and DVDs that enhance educational resources.
Mini-grants awarded for Fall Semester 2007 through the Greenville Tech Foundation provide funds for educational needs that budgets don’t cover. Also funded this fall were a project to develop a new University Transfer-level history course specifically for Clemson-bound students, new high tech equipment for calculating superheat and sub-cooling by HVAC students, and an updated, realistic drawing chair for students learning phlebotomy skills.
The Greenville Tech Foundation can make these awards thanks to the generosity of donors who make unrestricted gifts. To make a donation, call the foundation at (864) 250-8497.
