Greenville Tech presents “Millicent Scowlworthy”

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Greenville Technical College presents “Millicent Scowlworthy” by Rob Handel, November 13-15 at 8 p.m. and November 16 at 3 p.m. at Centre Stage South Carolina.

A New York City playwright, Handel’s story explores how contemporary tragedies, as exploited by the media, become legends and how theatre is an important vehicle for learning from the past in order to avoid repeating mistakes. The play involves a group of students who gather every year to tell the story of events that led to a tragedy in their community. This year, they realize that adults in town are trying to forget the tragedy ever happened. As they are chased away from each performance location, they become more committed to keeping memories alive.

Tickets are available at the door. The cost of admission is $5 for students and $10 for the general public.
