Sharing resources with other libraries.   

Greenville Technical College Library participates in exchanging resources with other libraries to access materials not owned by the library. These services are only available for the college community.                                    

      
PASCAL Delivers is a service used by participating South Carolina academic libraries for borrowing and lending books. 

          Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service used for borrowing and lending books and library 
          materials from other libraries.

Cost 

• FREE for most materials! PASCAL Delivers and ILL services are free.
• Some items can only be obtained from an institution that charges a lending fee.  Please indicate on the request form
  the maximum fee you are willing to pay and remember to click submit. 

Materials available

• Books
• Photocopies of articles from journals, magazines, newspapers, etc.
• Articles which may be scanned to your email
• Some audiovisual materials

Restrictions

• Maximum of 5 interlibrary loan requests per week per user.
• Entire issues of journals, magazines, and newspapers cannot be requested through PASCAL Delivers or ILL.
• You may request books available from statewide academic institutions through PASCAL Delivers and ILL.

How to request

• A library card is required to use this service.
• PASCAL Delivers and ILL users are required to check the Library catalog before requesting a book.
• PASCAL Delivers and ILL users are required to check the Library's e-journals list before requesting an article.
• PASCAL Delivers and ILL requests may be submitted in person at the Circulation Desk or online. 
• To request items through PASCAL Delivers, use their direct link. 
• To request ILL materials use the Request a Book or Request an Article form.
• Please complete the request form in its entirety.
• PASCAL Delivers requests may take 3-5 days for delivery. ILL requests may take 7 or more days for delivery.

Checking out PASCAL Delivers and ILL materials

• When the materials arrive, library staff will notify you using your contact information.
• Please pick up materials within 2 days.
• Attached paper band will include stamped due date. Please do not remove this band.

Loan period

• The usual loan period is about 3 - 5 weeks. The library lending the material determines the due date.
• If an item may be renewed, it will be indicated on the due date slip. Most lending libraries permit one renewal.
• Renewal requests must be made 5 days prior to an item's due date.
• Please return PASCAL Delivers and ILL materials on time!

Lost or damaged PASCAL Delivers and ILL

• The lending library establishes the replacement cost for lost or damaged PASCAL Delivers and ILL materials.
• Students will receive a bill for the lost or damaged materials.
• The fee must be paid at the Library.
• If payment is not made, the business office is notified of the fee and the student record is blocked due to indebtedness.
