National Technical Honor Society

What is it?
Getting accepted into the National Technical Honor
Society (NTHS) is America’s highest award for excellence in career and technical education. More than 2,500 schools and colleges throughout the United States are affiliated with the society. NTHS encourages higher scholastic achievement, cultivates a desire for personal excellence, and helps top students find success in today’s highly competitive workplace.

Benefits of Membership
Joining the NTHS is an important investment in your future. Besides looking great on resumes, NTHS membership also provides other services to help you continue your education or pursue your career:

    • Recruitment opportunities by top U.S. colleges and corporations

As an NTHS member, you will also receive a membership certificate, pin, card, window decal, white tassel, official NTHS diploma seal and a presentation folder.

What are the qualifications?
Students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher and have completed 12 credit hours in a technical program, excluding university transfer, are eligible for membership.

What do I have to do?
If you meet the qualifications listed above, all you have to do is submit the membership application that was mailed to you and pay the one-time $40 membership fee by March 12. You are invited to attend the induction ceremony on March 20, to be recognized for your achievement. While membership applications will be received after March 12 until March 21, the names of these members will not be included in the induction ceremony program, and a $5 late handling fee will apply.

Submit your application with payment to the Admissions Office or Information Center in the Admissions and Registration Center at McAlister Square or at any satellite campus. If you did not receive an application but believe you are eligible, please contact India Fulkerson at 250-8624.

Induction Ceremony Information
The NTHS induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the J. Verne Smith Library/Technical Resource Center Auditorium on the Barton Campus. Dress pants and business casual dresses are recommended since this event will be covered by the media. You are required to arrive by 12:30 p.m. in order to participate in the ceremony.

NOTE: Your membership does not require you to participate in the ceremony; however, we would like to see you there with family and friends who support your accomplishments.
