ASTP - Automotive Service Training program
It’s college that works for finding secure, high paying work.
Jobs for trained automotive technicians are waiting. In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor estimates that 100,000 technicians are needed in the automotive industry nationwide. In order to get one of these jobs, you need the right skills.
With extensive electronic and computerized circuitry, late model automobiles are highly complex machines. Automotive technicians must be skilled in using modern test equipment, special tools, emission controls, overdrive transmission and other test equipment.
Greenville Tech’s Automotive Service Training program will teach you to use the latest equipment – technology such as a computer analyzer and Dyno -- equipment that’s equal to or better than what you’ll find in the workplace.
The level of training provided in this five-semester program is well-respected by area employers. Graduates generally find employment as technicians, service writers and parts managers at dealerships and repair shops.
Many students gain hands-on experience at local dealerships while they are enrolled in the program allowing them to gain a competitive edge. Partnership programs with GM , Nissan/Infiniti, and Southeast Toyota deliver specialized skills through a combination of classroom instruction and dealership work experience.
