Computed Tomography

Earn a certificate that will take your professional skills to the next level.

Increase the value of your radiologic technology skills by adding specialized knowledge of computed tomography. Greenville Tech’s Computed Tomography program is fast and flexible, with just two semesters of full-time study required. Program courses are offered online and clinical rotations may be arranged near home.

The clinical component consists of 540 contact hours. However, the clinical portion of the program is competency based and students can complete this requirement in less time if competency is documented. The didactic portion of the program will require a one-hour online class session weekly on Tuesdays 10 – 11 a.m. or Thursdays 8 9 p.m.(EST).

Admission requirements include:

  • Registered and in good standing in radiography, nuclear medicine, or radiation therapy with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Registry eligible new Radiography graduates must pass the ARRT registry within four weeks of starting the Computed Tomography program.
  • Graduation from an accredited imaging program
  • Certification by your state if licensure exists
  • Current health care provider CPR certification by the American Heart Association
  • Pre-Clinical HealthStream on-line modules
  • Physical examination and documented immunizations by a licensed physician, nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant
  • Earned a grade of “C” or higher in anatomy and physiology
  • Crime-free criminal background check
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen
  • Forward an official, sealed college transcript and proof of high school graduation.
  • Submit Greenville Technical College application for admission and application fee.

  • Online classes qualify for CE credits, with one semester hour equaling 16 CE credits

Classes begin in August and end in early May. Deadline to apply is June 1.
