"We have so many success stories where students have completed an internship, gotten a job at an agency, and from there have gone back to get a bachelor's degree."
Deanna Palmer

"When they teach the classes, it's not straight out of the book. You really learn the skills, and I think that's what makes our program unique."

GTC President's Award Recipient
Greenville Tech’s Human Services programs provide training and education to develop entry-level professionals that can provide client services in the Human Services arena. Course instruction is provided by professionals with years of professional experience as well as years of teaching experience. In addition to classroom instruction, field placements at area agencies are an integral part of the educational experience to help you practice your skills and obtain real-life experience. These field placements often lead to jobs.
In the Human Services program you’ll receive the training to prepare you to help others for a living. Building on their associate degree, many Greenville Tech students transfer their credits to four-year programs in social work, psychology, or human services through agreements with Limestone College, Lander University, South Carolina State University, the University of South Carolina Upstate, and the University of South Carolina Beaufort. With this level of education, opportunities and responsibilities increase.
Career Opportunities
With an associate degree in human services, students can enter the field with job titles including human service worker, case management aide, social work assistant, community support worker, mental health aide, community outreach worker, life skills counselor, or gerontology aide.
