MANAGEMENT
Managers are responsible for the daily operations of various businesses and industries, coordinating activities among departments, ensuring that clients are satisfied, overseeing inventory and equipment, and managing administrative and human resource functions. The management field is broad, encompassing a wide variety of opportunities.
Greenville Tech’s Management program trains students in planning, organizing, leading and controlling techniques and prepares them to fill entry-level managerial positions in industry, restaurants, retail stores and service companies.
The Fire Service Administration concentration program enhances the basic management program with specialized training in fire service administration. Students also take electives, which relate to fire service issues.
Careers in Management
Skills learned in the Management program have application in many areas, such as industry, healthcare,
retail, and service
companies.
Associate Degree Programs
Associate in Business with a major in Management
Associate in Business with a major in Management:
Fire Service Administration Concentration
These programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
The Management program gives students the opportunity to learn about
business early in the program. Classes are taught by faculty with graduate
degrees in Management who also have significant experience in the real world.
Where can I transfer with an associate degree?
Transfer agreements with local universities make it
possible to get an associate degree from Greenville
Tech as part of work toward a bachelor's degree in
Business Administration from an articulating college or university. Currently, transfer agreements are in place with the following institutions:
- Limestone College
- Southern Wesleyan University
- Strayer University
In addition, a transfer agreement is in place with Franklin University where a bachelor's degree may be earned online.
Selected courses will transfer to the Furman University Undergraduate Evening Studies Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree.
Certificate Programs
For students who are not sure they want to commit to a 2-year degree, the Management department offers certificates. The Introduction to Business and Business Supervision certificates are designed to introduce students to the field of management. These certificates also act as “stepping stones” to the associate degree, as all classes are required in the degree program.
The Human Resource Management certificate is a specialized certificate, which will help prepare students for a career in the growing field of human resource management.
The Small Business/Entrepreneurship certificate is designed for students who want to start and/or manage a small business.
