Department of Visual and Performing Arts

Greenville Tech offers a well-respected visual and performing arts education close to home. The Department of Visual and Performing Arts provides the education you need to work in advertising, animation, art education, film and video, fine arts, graphic design, photography, and many other arts-related fields.

We offer an Associate of Arts Degree with a “Transfer Track” in Graphic Design, Website Design, Photography, Fine Arts or Art Education. Students can also add a few other classes to allow graduation with a certificate in all the above areas except Art Education. The certificates include advanced classes beyond the associate degree, but do not require traditional humanities, science, or math classes.

You can continue your education at USC Upstate, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design with our 2+2 transfer agreement. USC Upstate guarantees transfer into their program to anyone who completes our Associate Degree in Graphic Design.
 
Students who perform well in our program transfer credits to colleges and universities all over the country, since our programs of study are SACS accredited, meaning they meet standards for content and transferability on a regional scale. If you complete our classes with a grade of C or better, the credits should easily transfer to other programs that are accredited.

All visual arts classes at Greenville Tech are taught by instructors with advanced degrees and real-world experience. These are working artists and ad agency veterans who bring valuable knowledge to the classroom.

Every graduating student has created a contemporary industry-standard portfolio used for job or college placement interviews. Graduates are our best marketing tool, leaving Greenville Tech with the tools to succeed as they move on to four-year colleges and careers.
