Loading...

The primary objective of Advising at Greenville Tech is to provide students with the information and tools they need to achieve their academic goals. Throughout the advising process, students are provided information and resources to assist them in making informed and independent decisions.

Your academic advisor will help you with

  • Exploring programs, degrees and certificates
  • Understanding specific degree requirements
  • Choosing or changing your degree plan
  • Selecting classes and planning your class schedule
  • Setting educational goals
  • Solving academic problems

Services provided by advisors include but are not limited to

  • interpreting placement test scores
  • explaining policies and procedures
  • distributing informational program guides that serve as the students' roadmaps
  • providing information regarding campus resources
  • assisting with the selection of courses
  • accompanying students to other areas within the ARC
  • encouraging students to pursue further educational goals and providing contact information regarding their areas of interest, including the University Center

Professional advisors on all four campuses are responsible for assigning students to academic advisors, completing financial aid, and acting as a liaison with designated departments. The professional academic advisors serve as permanent academic advisors to students in their division. These advisors also provide training for the faculty advisors and other departments as requested.
