Important tips to remember when completing your FAFSA online

• If you do not have a Department of Education PIN number - obtain it at www.pin.ed.gov (parent and student need PIN numbers to file online.) Or,
  you can print the signature page and mail it. Your FAFSA will be rejected if you
  do not use PIN number(s) or mail the signature page(s).
• If while doing the FAFSA online, you need to stop before it's completed, you can save it and go back to it. Be sure to remember your password if you do not have your PIN; you will not be able to go back to complete the application without it.
• The process is not complete unless you get a confirmation number after clicking “submit FAFSA” button at the end of the process.
• Pay particular attention to the instructions that define "dependent" or "independent" student by FAFSA standards. You must follow these guidelines.
• Please make sure you answer step 6 regarding your housing plans. Leaving this question blank will affect the amount of aid you are eligible to receive.
