Need help paying for college? To qualify for grants, loans, work study opportunities, and lottery tuition assistance, your next step is to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To learn more about completing your FAFSA, click on the brief video below or read more about FAFSA here.

FAFSA facts:

  • You must submit FAFSA to qualify for grants, loans, work study opportunities and lottery tuition assistance.
  • The process is online.
  • You should complete FAFSA every year that you need help paying for college, using last year’s completed taxes.
  • FAFSA is available every year beginning January 1.

What do I do?

  • First go to www.pin.ed.gov to get a four digit code that you’ll use to access your information online and save your FAFSA.
  • Apply online at www.fafsa.gov. The program will walk you through the process.
  • Use completed taxes for the prior year to complete FAFSA. Using estimated taxes will slow the process down.
  • Use Greenville Technical College’s school code – 003991 – so that the results will be sent to our database.

What’s next?

As soon as you submit your FAFSA, move on to Step 3 -- Transcripts while your information is being processed.

You should receive a response about your FAFSA in one to three weeks. If you haven’t heard anything after three weeks, please call 1-800-433-3243.
