Greenville Technical College Helped Bob Change Careers and Follow his Passion
After being denied entry to the Navy due to medical reasons, Bob Anderson briefly attended college. But his heart wasn’t in it and he quickly fell out of college and into a career in IT support. When he became a father in 2011 at the age of 35, he realized that eventually his son would ask what his Dad did for a living, and Bob wanted to provide an answer of which he could be proud. So he enrolled at Greenville Technical College and entered the Honors Program.
At Greenville Technical College some of Bob’s teachers helped him realize that he has a passion for physics worth sharing with young people. Bob has now completed two associate degrees at GTC and was recently awarded the Alden Transfer Scholarship from Furman University. This full tuition two year scholarship will help Bob complete his bachelor’s degree and realize his dream of becoming a high school physics teacher.
