Department Mission
Greenville Tech's Criminal Justice program holds as its primary mission to provide students with the most academically challenging curriculum relevant to the realities of the ever-changing world of law enforcement. This is achieved by ensuring that all instructors are accomplished professionals having had successful careers within the criminal justice system. An actively engaged advisory committee represents the spectrum of the criminal justice community in Greenville County, making sure that course content is aligned with hiring needs.
An education in the rapidly growing field of Criminal Justice opens up a world of opportunity. The associate degree, now a minimum qualification for jobs with many agencies, prepares graduates for the demands they'll encounter and provides a foundation for advancement. The curriculum delivers a thorough understanding of the criminal justice system and its interrelation with society. Many graduates use the degree as a basis for entering a bachelor's degree program and go on to graduate school, law school, research, government service, or social services including law enforcement, corrections, probation/parole, juvenile justice, and victim services.
