Engineering Graphics Technology is a 2-year associate degree program producing trained engineering designers able to convert ideas and solutions into 2-D CAD drawings, 3-D CAD models and specifications using state-of-the-art tools such as AutoCAD, Solidworks and CATIA V5. If a technical career that is both imaginative and rewarding is for you, then consider Engineering Graphics Technology. 

Mission Statement
The mission of the Engineering Graphics Technology program is to provide the Upstate of South Carolina with professionally prepared CAD design technicians capable of making significant contributions to the progress of business and industry in the area.Car 

Program Curriculum 

Early College for High School Students 

NEW Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management 

EGT Educational Objectives: 

  1. An appropriate mastery of the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of industrial CAD design
  2. An ability to apply up-to-date knowledge, and adapt to emerging applications of engineering technology in order to solve technical problems.
  3. An ability to conduct, analyze and interpret experiments, and apply the results to improve processes and products.
  4. An ability to generate specifications, and subsequently design a component, system, or process to meet the expectations of both customers and employers.
  5. The skills needed to perform effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  6. An ability to communicate effectively.
  7. An understanding of professional engineering ethics and the contemporary issues in which they apply.
  8. A commitment to pursue lifelong learning and continuous improvement.

EGT Assessment Criteria: The measurement of the success of the EGT Department to achieve its Educational Objective is by Annual Graduate and Employer Surveys which determine if EGT Graduates are either working in their chosen field or continuing their education.

This program trains students to transform engineering ideas into drawings and specifications using computer-aided design software. Many area industries, including manufacturing, engineering and mechanical companies, employ graduates of the EGT program as CAD Designers. Starting salaries range from $25,000 to $40,000 per year.

 

Engineering Graphics Technology graduates obtain entry-level positions in the following types of companies:
