About the Library

The Library supports the College's mission by providing research guidance, facilitating academic learning, and maintaining access to quality electronic and print resources. The library further endeavors to stimulate and encourage lifelong habits of learning and research. Questions and comments regarding Library facilities and services are welcomed and encouraged.

 

Print collection

  • Over 58,000 books
  • Approximately 120 print periodicals, a third of which are peer-reviewed journals

 

Electronic collection

Available off-campus with Internet access

  • 56,500 electronic books
  • Subscriptions to over 70 research databases
  • Over 2,660 full-text online journals

Study rooms

Three study rooms, each seating up to six, are available.

  • Reservations are not necessary.
  • Walk-ins are welcomed when space is available.
  • Reservations may be made in advance at the Circulation Desk or by calling 250-8319.
  • Priority is given first to faculty, then to groups, and then to individuals.
  • A reservation may be canceled or altered for priority-use reasons.
  • Reservations are limited to 3 hours. Renewals are possible if there is no one waiting.
  • A reservation is forfeited 10 minutes after start-time if no one is present.

 

Computers

  • Computers are available for educational and informational purposes, with priority given to individuals needing access to the Library’s catalogs, collections and electronic resources.
  • Microsoft Office products, including Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint, are not available in the Library. Access to these programs can be found at any of Greenville Technical College’s open computer labs, including Computer Valley near the Library.
