Registration (obtaining a library card)
- Greenville Technical College students must present a picture ID, preferably a student ID, to obtain a library card.
- Charter High School students must present an application form, signed by a parent, step-parent, or legal guardian with custody.
- Persons living in Greenville County, but not attending Greenville Technical College or Charter High School, must present picture identification, such as a driver's license. If the current address does not appear on the picture ID, then proof of residency must be presented. Legal documents, lease statements, utility bills less than 60 days old, and current checkbooks can be used as proof of residency.
- The first library card is free. Lost or stolen library cards cost $1.00 to replace.

Due dates
- Most books are checked out for four weeks, except when the due date would exceed the last date of the semester.
- During the last four weeks of the semester, the due date becomes the last day of the semester. Students registered for the following semester may request to have the due date extended.
- Some books are part of specialized collections with shorter due dates.
Renewals
- Due dates may be extended twice, given that no one else has requested the item.
- The borrower record may not have more than $10.00 in fees/fines when attempting to renew materials.

Overdue fees
- Print materials are $0.10 per day per item overdue.

- $10.00 in fees results in a hold on both the library record and the student's business office record.
Lost and damaged fees
- An item is assumed lost at 35 days overdue.
- Library staff shall determine if an item is damaged beyond repair.
- Lost items and those damaged beyond repair are billed at the cost of the item plus $10.00 processing fee. The student's campus-wide record is blocked until payment is made in full.
- If an item is returned prior to payment of the lost-item bill, the lost fee is replaced by the applicable overdue fee.
