LexisNexis Combination of five databases covering news, business, law, medical, and general reference. The legal database provides full text court cases from the Supreme Court, federal and state sources, full text of state and federal codes, as well as legal news and reviews.

CIAOnet Theory and research in international affairs.

Credo Reference Searchable reference works on law, including Collins Dictionary of Law, Dictionary of Conflict Resolution, Wiley Dictionary of Law, Great American Court Cases, Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of Law, and World of Criminal Justice.

Academic Search Premier - Ebscohost General interest database of full text articles for nearly 4,700 publications.

Academic OneFile - Gale General interest database of more than 10,000 journals.

PowerSearch Gale Search all or a combination of Gale databases.

Sirs Government Reporter Information from and about the U.S. Government. Topics include, but are not limited to, the arts, history, the economy, education, energy, immigration, health care, and scientific research. Also includes current and past government documents and landmark and recent Supreme Court decisions.

Sirs Interactive Citizenship Targeted to secondary school users and above, includes three interactive books: What Citizens Need to Know About Government, What Citizens Need to Know About World Affairs, and What Citizens Need to Know About Economics.

CQ Historic Documents Series Online Edition Requires Greenville County Library System Library Card. Primary source documents, including presidential speeches, international agreements, and Supreme Court decisions to U.S. governmental reports, scientific findings, and cultural discussions, covering significant events since 1972.

Legal Information Institute Research and electronic publication by Cornell Law School. Includes constitutions and codes, court opinions, laws by source or jurisdictions, and links to laws in various states based on topics. Also includes a "law term of the day."

Federal Judiciary New developments in the Court system, frequently asked questions, court links, educational outreach. Searchable database of biographical information on all judges who have served on the Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals, U.S. Circuit Courts, and U.S. District Courts since 1789.

PACER - Public Access to Court Electronic Records Case and docket information from Federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts. Charge of $.07 per page accessed.

Constitution

U.S. Constitution Complete version from FindLaw includes a keyword search and extensive annotations explaining constitutional issues.

Original Constitution Constitution "as originally adopted" without the Bill of Rights. An introduction precedes the seven Articles of the Constitution.

Bill of Rights The text of the first ten amendments to the Constitution, ratified in 1791 and in their original form.

Amendments 11-27 Includes the dates the amendments were passed by Congress and ratified.

Biographical Directory of the United States Congress Information about members of Congress from 1774 to the present, searchable by last name, first name, position, and state.

 

Executive Branch

The White House Provides biographical information about the President, current news, a government overview, White House history, and information about tours.

Federal Register Rules and regulations, proposed rules, notices, Presidential documents, and Sunshine Act meetings. Coverage begins 1994.

Code of Federal Regulations The codified rules and regulations of regulatory Executive Branch and independent agencies and Presidential documents organized into 50 titles.

Regulations.gov Allows for the public's review and comment on proposed federal regulations. Searchable by the government agency issuing them and by keyword.
