Perception interviews were conducted by a consultant with twenty-six area organizations or businesses.

Greenville Area Commission for Technical Education Planning Retreat 
The Area Commission met on October 15, 2008 for a planning retreat.  A result from the retreat was statements that reflect GTC's role in the community, key questions that require further assessment, and recommended action for GTC.

Employee Survey 
A survey was sent out to all employees of Greenville Technical College to gain insight on the current situation of the college.
 
Strategic Thinking Retreat
Twenty-four faculty and staff members participated in a two day strategic thinking retreat to identify strategic imperatives for the college based on the gathered data.
