Help resourcesWe’re taking a multitude of steps to protect the well-being of the GTC community. Until further notice, masks covering the nose and mouth are required on all of our campuses for everyone and are being provided by the college for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We’re taking this approach to demonstrate that we care about those around us and want to do everything possible to reduce disease transmission.
We have installed hand sanitizer stations across all campuses, purchased antiseptic wipes so that our employees can clean desks and surfaces between each user and posted signage to remind everyone to practice good hygiene, social distancing and other safety precautions. We’re measuring each classroom to allow plenty of space between desks and capping class sizes as needed. In short, we are making every effort to ensure that this is a safe place to study.
One of the challenges with online learning may be technology, but that’s something we can easily fix. If you are a student experiencing any issues in connecting to your courses, with WiFi, or other issues, please follow these simple steps to connect to tech support:
Greenville County Schools (GCS) is allowing Greenville Tech students to use their hotspots across the county. The GCSGuest wireless network requires no password and is available at all GCS schools and on their buses with more locations being added soon.
Check out free services including internet and WiFi to help you handle the changes COVID-19 has brought.
Need assistance with food? Caring Corner can help - call (864) 250-8003 and ask about current hours.
The Center for Student Advocacy helps connect students with the right resources to assist with academic, financial, personal and food challenges, and will continue to be available via www.gvltec.edu/help/ or by phone or text at (864) 483-4827.
All the offices at Greenville Technical College that you need to get enrolled are open, staffed, and ready to welcome you. This includes admissions, financial aid, testing, the business office, and more. At the same time, if you prefer to access these services remotely, you will continue to have that option. In addition, many of the offices you need to succeed are open and ready to help. These include the libraries on all campuses, the Tutoring Center, our computer labs, the Writing Center and Math Center, Academic Advising Centers, and Caring Corner.

To minimize the spread of any respiratory illness including the flu and COVID-19, please practice basic prevention measures. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content if soap and water are not available, stay home when you are sick, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid close contact with people who are sick, and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid shaking hands with others; instead rely on fist bumps, elbow bumps, or waves to greet without contact.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Additional symptoms may include congestion, chills, repeated shaking with chills, headache, loss of taste, muscle pain or sore throat. If you are an employee experiencing symptoms that you believe to be associated with COVID-19, please stay at home, contact your healthcare provider, and notify your supervisor to discuss a plan for your absence. If you are a student experiencing these symptoms, please stay at home, contact your healthcare provider, and notify your instructors for guidance regarding illness-related absences.
Prisma Health and MUSC are offering COVID-19 screenings that you can access from home. If you are exhibiting symptoms, go to https://www.prismahealth.org/virtual-visit/ (promo code COVID19) for a free online visit or MUSC.care (promo code COVID19) to speak to an online virtual care provider.
