WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THE PROGRAM
State and federal regulations govern the qualifications and standards for truck drivers. The Truck Driver Training Certificate program, offered at SCTAC (formerly the Donaldson Center), trains truck drivers in
State and federal regulations dictate that drivers of trucks designed to carry 26,000 pounds or more must obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) from the state of residence. Graduates of the program may qualify for a Class A CDL by passing the written test and demonstrating safe operation of a commercial truck.

Certificate in Applied Science
This ten-week program, offered at SCTAC (formerly the Donaldson Center), trains entry-level commercial truck drivers in long haul, short haul and local operations, basics for over-the-road travel, and the rules and regulations of the Department of Transportation.
