Amazing advances are being made in cancer research and treatment. A Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) is a vital member of the team fighting for prevention and cure.
Graduates of this program are provided the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a cancer data collection system that is consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal and accreditation requirements.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that health care occupations will increase 19 percent by 2024. The BLS goes on to say, “Cancer registrars are expected to continue to be in high demand. As the population ages, there will likely be more types of special purpose registries because many illnesses are detected and treated later in life.”
The Cancer Data Management program was developed in response to local demand in Upstate S.C., which is representative of nationwide job opportunities.
