What is EDCT?

EDCT stands for Economic Development and Corporate Training. EDCT provides continuing education and retraining for the adult population ranging from personal interest to career change. We are sometimes referred to as continuing education.

How do I register for a course?

You have a few options. You can register by mail, fax, in person at the Continuing Education Registration Office at the Dreisbach/Anderson Student Success Center or online. Go to the Continuing Education Registration page to learn more about the registration steps.

When is payment due?

Payment is due when you register. If registering online, use a credit card to complete the process. Cash payments are only accepted in person. If paying by check, make checks payable to Greenville Technical College Economic Development & Corporate Training Division (EDCT). Please write the course number in the "For" field. What are the operation hours of registration for Economic Development & Corporate Training?

Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Do EDCT courses transfer?

EDCT courses are non-academic credit or non-credit; however, some health care courses provide points for weighted admissions process into health programs.

Where can I get a transcript of EDCT courses I have taken?

A copy of your transcript may be faxed, mailed, or picked up when required information is provided. Please note the transcript provides a Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory status - not a grade status.

In order to process this request by fax or mail, the following must be provided:

a copy of your driver’s license or ID
Social Security number
the course name
year taken
where to send the transcript

Please present a picture ID if picking up in person at the Continuing Education Registration Office at the Dreisbach/Anderson Student Success Center.

Where can I get a duplicate certificate?

You may request a copy of your certificate to be mailed or picked up when required information is provided. In order to process this request, you will need to provide a copy of your driver’s license or ID, social security number, the course, year taken, and where to send the certificate. If you choose to come to the Continuing Education Registration Office at the Dreisbach/Anderson Student Success Center, you will need to have a picture ID in order to pick up your certificate. In most cases the fee is $10.

Can I decide if I want to take my class in the day or at night?

Some courses are delivered both day and evening. Please check the course schedule for options.

Do I have to have a picture ID, and if so, where can I get it?

You may not be required to have a picture ID for your specific course of study. If you are, you will receive further details either at registration or during class.

Can I purchase books for the EDCT courses at any Greenville Technical College bookstore?

Yes, in some cases. Check your confirmation receipt for required books and/or supplies.

Books for some courses are included in the registration fee.

What type of job placement does EDCT offer?

Greenville Technical College has a Career Services Center that is available to all current and former students. You may contact the Career Center (864) 250-8139 or (864) 250-8222.

Does financial aid cover EDCT courses?

No. Continuing education courses do not qualify for federal and state financial aid; however, there are resources available through various agencies that can provide help for EDCT students. The program manager of the course may have additional information or visit Paying for Continuing Education Courses.

Is there an application fee to register for the EDCT courses?

In most cases there is no application fee.

What is the cancellation policy at EDCT?

You may cancel your registration with seven days’ notice before class starts. A processing fee of $25 will be charged for cancellation from courses under $500 and $75 for courses over $500. There is no charge to transfer your registration to another class when requested at least seven days before original class start. Cancellations or class transfers made with less than seven days’ notice result in forfeiture of total registration fee.

Are there payment plans available for EDCT courses?

Payment is due when you register.
