8-03.4 Procedure - Faculty Release Time and Supplements
Administrative Supplements
Faculty pay supplements are designed to compensate pay for permanent or temporary duties associated with supervisory and or management responsibilities. Supplemental pay agreements are completed annually or as needed and approved up to the CAO.
Release Time
Teaching faculty may be released from some or all of the normal teaching load to perform instructional-related administrative assignments that are not normally associated with the primary job assignment. Specific deliverables must be identified and recorded in the FPMS as an optional objective.
All release time requires a full review and approval process, including approval by the CAO. Release time agreements are completed annually or as needed and approved up to the CAO.
Required Forms
Faculty will complete and submit for approval the Faculty Administrative Release and Supplement Worksheet submitted to the CAO by the first Monday in July. Calculations required by the worksheet for Department Heads, Academic Program Directors and Directors of Clinical Education will be based on the previous fall or spring term with the highest enrollment. The results of the calculations will determine the approved release time and supplements for these positions for the academic year. Release time and administrative supplements ends when appointment ends XENST2 reports used as the basis for calculations must be attached to the submitted Faculty Administrative Release and Supplement Worksheet.
Faculty released for non-administrative projects must complete the Faculty Release Form prior to the start of the term in which the release will occur so that the Faculty Workload Report demonstrates that they have met their workload requirements for the term.
The Faculty Administrative Release and Supplement Worksheet will be reviewed for accuracy of information by the Assistant Dean in each school prior to submission to the Dean and CAO for final approval.
