Chefs are well-trained and experienced professionals. Culinary programs provide individuals with the educational foundation to work toward becoming a chef, but industry experience within the culinary field in conjunction with education is required to become a chef. You can visit www.acfchefs.org for information on how to become certified as a chef on different levels.
Some required courses are offered during the afternoon or evening hours. However, due to the nature of the culinary lab courses, attending day classes will be necessary in order to complete the program.
