Greenville Technical College board votes to freeze tuition again

The Greenville Technical College Area Commission has approved a tuition and fee freeze through Spring Semester 2021. This action and a previous freeze instituted in summer 2020 mean that costs will not increase as families deal with the effects of the pandemic.

GTC named a Global Distinction Community College by UNC World View program

Greenville Technical College (GTC) was recently named a Global Distinction Community College by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s (UNC) World View program. World View equips community college educators with global knowledge, best practices, and resources to prepare students to engage in an interconnected and diverse world.

Greenville Technical College celebrates its graduates

Instead of the Commencement ceremony normally held to salute graduates, Greenville Technical College is celebrating them remotely. Diplomas will be mailed to those who have met requirements, and anyone who can is invited to participate in the December ceremony so that faculty and staff can applaud them in person.

Anonymous donors pay fee for nursing graduates to take NCLEX exam

Two anonymous donors approached the Greenville Tech Foundation, looking for a creative way to support nursing graduates during the pandemic. They wanted to help the next group of frontline healthcare workers get certified and ready to help patients. That request led to donations that funded the $200 registration fee for all 35 nursing graduates to take the NCLEX exam, a $7,000 combined gift.

Greenville Tech Honors student earns prestigious internship

Zoe Kane, a Greenville Technical College (GTC) Honors Program student, is headed to Princeton University this summer. She will participate in the Department of Energy’s Community College Internships (CCI) program at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL).

GTC named one of the Most Promising Places to Work

The selection was made by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education in recognition of strong recruitment and retention practices, inclusive learning and working environments, and meaningful community service opportunities.

The myGTC mobile app is available for Greenville Technical College students and employees, providing access to GTC4me and all of its resources including Blackboard, Webadvisor, and Self Service.

Adventure TECH announces new summer day camp offerings for 2020

Adventure TECH summer day camps for middle schoolers returns for its third season with its most popular camps in 3D printing, game design, culinary, drones, advanced manufacturing, and pet care. Three new camps – two in game design and another in etiquette and manners – join the 2020 season. Info sessions will be held in March and April.

GTC and Anderson University sign agreements

Anderson University (AU) and Greenville Technical College (GTC) have formed a partnership designed to further enhance the transfer opportunity of students from GTC to AU.

AFL supports STEM summer camp scholarships

A $2,500 grant from AFL to the Greenville Tech Foundation will provide scholarships for middle school students interested in STEM-related summer camp sessions.
