Tutoring: First, you need to create a tutoring account. When filling out the form, you will use your GTC email address (ending in @my.gvltec.edu) and student ID number. Once you’ve created a tutoring account, you can log in to the tutoring website, select your campus, and make an online or in-person appointment. If you need help setting up your account or making an appointment, call 864-250-8241.
Academic Coaching: Assistance is available by appointment or on a walk-in basis. Log in to GTC4me. In MyApps, click on Inspire to make an appointment or call 864-250-8241. We recommend scheduling appointments, especially near the start of the semester.
To cancel a tutoring appointment, log in to your tutoring account. At the top left of your screen, click My Appointments, then click on the appointment that you want to cancel. Click the red Cancel Appointment button. If you need help, call 864-250-8241.
To cancel an academic coaching appointment, log in to GTC4me. In MyApps, click on Inspire. Then, click on your appointment block in Inspire and cancel. If you are unable to cancel through Inspire, call 864-250-8241.
Tutors help students complete specific assignments, revise papers, solve problems, and study for tests. They simplify challenging concepts, instructions, and instructor feedback. Tutors may suggest ways to remember provide strategies to help you complete your assignments independently and to . Tutors will not complete any assignment for a student.
Academic coaches work with students one-on-one to develop or strengthen their academic skills. Academic coaches assist students with time management, study skills, test-taking strategies, textbook reading and more.
Support is available for most math, writing, and science courses that transfer to a four-year college. Unfortunately, support is not available for specialty courses such as welding or culinary arts. Please see this list of courses for which we currently offer tutors.
Academic Coaching is not subject specific, so coaching services are available to any student.
