Please note: Pre-Health Sciences and Pre-Nursing students who are currently enrolled as Associate of Science students are not eligible for the scholarship until they are accepted and enrolled into the Health Sciences/Nursing program they have selected.

The Veterinary Technology program prepares graduates to assist the veterinarian by drawing blood, assisting in x-rays and other diagnostic tests, and educating pet owners to improve the health and wellness of their pets.
The Veterinary Technology program at Tri-County Technical College, which offers Phase II of this 1 + 1 program, is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), 1931 N. Meacham Road, Suite 100, Schaumburg, Illinois 60173-4360. Telephone: (847) 925-8070, Fax: (847) 925-1329, and is sanctioned by the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians.
Upon successful completion of phase II, students will be eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). After passing the VTNE, students will be eligible to take the South Carolina State Jurisprudence Examination to become a South Carolina state Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).
Greenville Technical College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.

This program is designed to satisfy Phase I requirements for a one-plus-one articulation agreement leading to an associate degree in Veterinary Technology at Tri-County Technical College.

Veterinary Assistant
Certificate in Applied Science
This program trains students for entry-level positions in kennels, veterinary offices, shelters, and animal hospitals, covering the areas of nutrition, veterinary services, pharmacological applications, handling procedures and ethical practices.

Career Talk provides valuable information regarding the application process, requirements, policies, procedures, and expectations of students interested in applying to the Animal Studies program. Completion of the online Career Talk is a requirement for submitting an application. However, information is updated frequently, so check back often to be sure you do not miss important changes.

Due to specific program requirements, students are not able to register themselves into any Animal Studies course. Registration instructions will be emailed to students after successful completion of the online Animal Studies Career Talk. Veterinary Assistant spaces are filled in the order registration paperwork is received for students who meet the desired program’s minimum placement and entrance requirements. Spaces are limited in each program.
The application submission process for GTC's Veterinary Technology Phase I program is now electronic. The electronic application will only be accessible during the application acceptance period, May 15-June15. Applications are not accepted during any other timeframe. Tri-County Technical College will accept 12 students from GTC who complete the Phase I program and meet all other program requirements. It is the student’s responsibility to apply to Phase II at TCTC for consideration of acceptance into the Veterinary Technology Program at TCTC.
Admission into the Greenville Technical College Veterinary Technology program Phase I does not guarantee admission into Phase II of the program at TCTC.
