The EMT/Paramedic Program at Greenville Technical College offers classroom and hands-on education in a state-of-the-art environment, including the college’s Dr. Barbara P. Lassiter STAT Center Lab. With a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, field experience, and opportunities for service, graduates are fully prepared for the workplace.

Employment of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics is projected to grow 15 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. Emergencies, such as car crashes, natural disasters, and acts of violence, will continue to require the skills of EMTs and paramedics.

The Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the Emergency Medical Professions (CoAEMSP) requires the following be made available and published a 3-year review-window. The Greenville Technical College Paramedic Program was awarded full accreditation and has maintained it since 1988.

Paramedic to RN Track

Associate in Applied Science
A Paramedic to RN track is available and allows the student to transition to nursing classes upon successful completion of paramedic training to complete a nursing degree and obtain an RN credential in a much shorter timeframe.
In addition to Greenville Technical College admissions process, outlined in these Enrollment Steps, students interested in a program in the School of Health Sciences must also successfully complete the following:
Participating in a Career Talk session for your program is a requirement for all Health Sciences students. The Career Talk presentation for EMT is conducted online.
The Emergency Medical Technology program strictly adheres to all the School of Health Sciences policies, which are detailed on the Health Sciences admissions information page. This includes passing a drug screening and passing a criminal background check.
