Greenville Technical College’s Economic Development and Corporate Training Division will host an Economic Outlook Breakfast on January 16 at the college’s Center for Manufacturing Innovation. The event, sponsored by the Upstate Alliance and held in partnership with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, will feature Richard Kaglic as keynote speaker.
Kaglic is the senior regional economist for the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank. He will provide national, regional, and local economic forecasts for 2018. Topics will include GDP, inflation, monetary policy, international trade, and employment information from the Federal Reserve. In addition, Shannon Christenbury, Greenville director with the U.S. Commercial Service, will address the audience.

Kaglic is responsible for analyzing regional economic conditions and developments, as well as educating the region's diverse constituents on the role of the Federal Reserve and its District Banks. Prior to joining the Richmond Fed, he served as a senior economist for Eaton Corporation; as chief economist for the Washington State Employment Security Department; and as senior business economist for 11 years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate work at Youngstown State University with specializations in regional and urban economics.
